Readers also learned about encouraging their friends to do art with The Dot by Peter H. It’s been a very exciting year! Readers had fun in the forest with Explorers of the Wild by Cale Atkinson, explored a diverse world in the city with Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Pena, and said Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn with a story by Kenard Pak. And, since it’s seasonal, StoryWalk® engages readers with different aspects of nature around them, often with a connection to the featured book’s content. It’s not only an educational experience, but an enjoyable attraction that nurtures the joy of reading with family. Each pedestal displays laminated pages of a picture book, with active reading tips that help promote early literacy and questions for interactive fun. Located at the Burlington County Library, StoryWalk® consists of 20 pedestals installed along a mesmerizing natural trail around the amphitheater. BCLS is celebrating one year of StoryWalk®, a permanent, outdoor installation created to promote physical activity, early literacy and family time together in nature.
